Kimberly Weichel is a global peacebuilding, development, cross cultural and gender expert with 30 years professional experience working in leadership positions in many countries. Kim has had a long background working with UN agencies and serving in leadership positions with several UNA chapters over the past 24 years. She has been a consultant with UN Women and collaborated with UNICEF, UNIFEM, UN Foundation, and produced radio programs for UN radio. She began her UNA involvement in 1992 when she joined the board of the San Francisco chapter, and became vice president and then president until 2009 when she moved with her family to the Washington, DC area. She was also president of the Marin County, CA, chapter for 5 years. Kim wrote and published regular Op Ed articles on UN Days and gave talks about the work of UN agencies at schools, Rotary Clubs and conferences. She was the UN and Global Affairs Correspondent for Positive Spin TV, broadcast to 10 million viewers internationally, for seven years. She participates in the annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the UN. Kim served on the DC Cities for CEDAW initiative as well as on the SDG Task Force, and until recently was Chair of UNA-NCA's Advisory Council. She has taught several courses on the UN at American University with Ambassador Don Bliss, and is a published author, educator, facilitator, trainer and mentor.
