UN at 80: Empowering the Next Generation for Global Impact
Global Classrooms DC (GCDC) is the flagship education program of The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA). For over 20 years, GCDC has worked year-round with students in grades 5-12, including some of DC’s most underserved communities, to build global and cultural awareness, improve public speaking, critical thinking, and writing skills, and expand students’ views of local and international issues.

Despite the disproportionate global impact of conflict and displacement on women, they remain significantly underrepresented in peace negotiations. Yet, research shows that the inclusion of women in these efforts contributes to more sustainable and inclusive outcomes. The panel discussion will convene expert professionals and leaders to explore the critical role of women in peacebuilding processes. This event will highlight the importance of gender representation in peacebuilding, considering how international institutions such as the United Nations can more effectively support these efforts.

Internship Opportunities with UNA-NCA
UNA-NCA offers year-round, unpaid internships to current students (undergraduates and graduates) and recent graduates in all of our programs and departments. All Program Assistant positions are available for extension into the next possible semester.
