Bailey Dinman
Bailey Dinman is a research coordinator for the Center for Applied Research and Learning at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), where she supports applied research related to democratic transitions, voting rights and electoral operations, and leads updates to ElectionGuide.org, the most comprehensive and timely source of verified election information available online. She also co-leads IFES’ internal Knowledge Management Initiative Working Group on Gender.

Before joining IFES, Dinman worked for various organizations in the democracy, human rights and governance space, including the United Nations Foundation, Freedom House, Amnesty International and the UN Information Center in Washington, D.C. In these roles, she supported grassroots coalitions of human rights advocates through mobilizing action pertaining to the Sustainable Development Goals, refugee resettlement and closing civil space. She has also coordinated multistakeholder efforts to bolster support for strong U.S. leadership in multilateral organizations and efforts to counter democratic backsliding. Bailey has served on the UNA-NCA Board of Directors since 2018, serving as the Student Representative from 2018-2019, and as a Director-At-Large since 2019.

Dinman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland (UMD), where she majored in government and politics. While at UMD, Dinman earned minors in international development and conflict management, and public policy.

Vision Statement

As a member at large on the UNA-NCA Board of Directors, I hope to build upon my experience serving as the Student Representative by maintaining a strong relationship with fellow board members, and an active presence within the chapter at large. Further, I hope to continue to build relationships with local student leaders, and offer continued support to the incoming Student Representative. I hope to contribute my unique opinions as a young professional and a young woman during board meetings and discussions, and ensure that there is younger perspective to governance conversations.
