Maya Hadley is a master’s student at Johns Hopkins SAIS, focusing on international economics, security, and development in the Americas. She graduated summa cum laude from Howard University with a double major in Political Science and Spanish and minor in International Relations. Her academic foundation sparked a passion for public service and global engagement.
Maya gained practical experience as a Policy Analyst for Senator Raphael Warnock’s campaign and at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. These roles deepened her understanding of how domestic policies affect global outcomes.
She studied abroad in Mexico, Spain, and Colombia, enhancing her language skills and cultural awareness. Upon returning to campus, she served as Chair of Student Ambassadors for Howard’s Bunche International Affairs Center, leading initiatives that empowered hundreds of students to pursue study abroad and global careers.
Recently, Maya received a Fulbright-Hays Grant to research peacebuilding across eight cities in Colombia, focusing on inclusive development and youth engagement.
