Davis Hobbs
GCDC Program Assistant

Davis Hobbs is a rising junior at American University, where he is majoring in international studies with a focus on the Middle East and minoring in history. This summer, he is interning with the United Nations Association, focusing on global education. Growing up in Burlington exposed him to a community bound by its shared diverse backgrounds. He became curious about the variations in cultures and how they interconnected with one another, leading him to volunteer with his community and to major in international studies in D.C. Here, he discovered an interest in Middle Eastern affairs, specifically how history has shaped today's culture and politics. He has also developed an interest in intelligence and security, leading him to research the behavior of intelligence and its correlation with interstate relations. This summer, with NCUSAR and the United Nations Association, he hopes to strengthen his cultural, historical, and political understanding of the region to assist in future work experience while developing interpersonal connections with his peers and advisors.
