Global Development and Philanthropy Leader | Former CEO, USA for IOM

 


Maria Moreno Muracco is a CEO, global leader, and connector with more than 17 years of experience in diplomacy, fundraising, and nonprofit leadership. She most recently served as the International Partnerships Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Washington, D.C., where she led engagement with regional multilateral development banks and intergovernmental institutions. Prior to that, she was the CEO of USA for IOM, where she grew the organization from the ground up into a competitive UN-affiliated national committee in the United States over 12 years. In this role, she built a multi-million-dollar development portfolio advancing migration and humanitarian causes, forging strategic alliances with the private sector, diaspora leaders, celebrities, and philanthropic institutions. A lawyer by training, Maria has worked across the world on issues of migration, social inclusion, financial literacy, economic integration and humanitarian response. She is a migrant, a mother, and a passionate believer in the power of global citizens to shape more just and inclusive societies.
