The United Nations Association, National Capital Area in collaboration with United Nations Association, Boulder County are hosting a panel discussion on improving criminal justice outcomes for women immigrants and LGBTQ communities. In this discussion we will convene local, federal and international organizations to discuss best practices for addressing the unique challenges facing the LGBTQ and immigrant women communities. Are there local policies that have helped mitigate these risks?

How can we ensure federal agencies and funding continue to support country-wide efforts to treat these communities equally? What international norms or treaties can we look to boost these efforts? How can we revitalize federal support for, and build broad coalitions supporting, international institutions that support ensuring more equal criminal justice outcomes for women and girls?

Speakers:
  • Emily Kleeman, Reentry Initiative Boulder
  • Darius Edgerton, Charles Kettering Foundation
  • Ana Cutter Patel, DC Liaison UN High Commissioner for Human Rights
When: Thursday, March 12 at 2:30pm
