WASHINGTON — Sep. 15, 2025 — A black-tie gala fundraiser will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, honoring eight decades of global cooperation and humanitarian leadership.
This historic celebration is organized by the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) and made possible with generous support from community partners, including title sponsor Accenture. All proceeds from the event will benefit UNA-NCA, a nonprofit that supports the mission and values of the United Nations through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
“The 80th anniversary offers a moment to reflect on that legacy, renew our commitments, and galvanize support among governments, business leaders, civil society, and citizens alike. The UN remains indispensable, not only in preserving what has been built, but in shaping stewardship and bold leadership for the future,” said Paula Boland, UNA-NCA President.
“We are thrilled to bring together our community for an evening of celebration and support, highlighting the power of local action to advance global ideals,” said Aaron Poynton, UNA-NCA Board Member and 80th Anniversary Gala Chair.
“With the generous support of partners like Accenture, this gala will fuel local programs that educate, engage, and mobilize our region in support of the UN’s mission and educate students to be global citizens,” said Anne Simmons-Benton, Chair of the Board of UNA-NCA.
Guests can expect an elegant evening of networking, diplomacy-inspired program elements, live entertainment, and opportunities to support UNA-NCA’s year-round education and advocacy initiatives serving the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia communities.
