Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and then moving to the U.S as a teen, Sophia Arias Rodriguez has experienced many life changes that have influenced her passion for international affairs. She is a Junior at the University of California, San Diego, studying Political Science, part of the concurrent program with the Global Politics Studies Department to obtain a Master's Degree in International Affairs with a concentration in International Politics, and currently doing the UCDC program for the spring of 2026. She is passionate about human rights, specifically those of minority groups, and the preservation and protection of cultures and nature. Her future career goals are to advocate, implement, and teach policies that make basic human rights accessible around the world. Outside work, she loves to travel, experience, and learn about cultures and languages that add to her saying of "Our differences bring us together."
