Vision Statement
For 30 years I worked in the National Capital Area with youth from all over the world. My Civil Rights Café program created an Intergenerational Engagement program where teens and seniors discussed and watched documentaries about the history of the Civil Rights Movement and its role globally. I serve as a Commissioner, for National and Community Service at Serve DC. We depend on the strength of volunteers! I worked closely with the Points of Light Foundation in the late 90’s, created a clothing drive called “Operation Step It Up” for local children in Foster Care at the State Department with the support of then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton! I will support UN-NCA to Increase public understanding and support of the United Nations. I am committed to working with the UN-NCA to continue encouraging constructive US leadership in strengthening the United Nations. Prepare present and future leaders to work for a better world, both globally and locally. As a steward of our local community, our nation, and our interconnected world, we need to think globally and act locally.
