Amr Brown is a junior at the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. He is pursuing a B.A. in Public Policy with a focus on Diplomacy and International Human Rights Policy and a minor in Arabic Studies. He is passionate about diplomacy, global security, and human rights, and has pursued these interests across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. His experience includes research and policy development with the U.S. Department of State, the European External Action Service, and Drabzeen Human Development in Amman, Jordan. Amr received the University of Michigan’s 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit Award for creating the first conflict-affected and refugee student scholarship in the University’s history. He was a delegate at the 2026 Global Peace Summit at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, Thailand, where he presented outlines for delegates from 60 countries to implement refugee scholarship opportunities. From this work, he was appointed a Peace Ambassador by Humanitarian Affairs Asia, a youth-focused humanitarian organization that empowers emerging leaders to champion peace. He speaks English and Arabic, enabling him to communicate across continents. Outside of work and academics, Amr enjoys aviation, swimming, and exploring DC with his friends.
