Raghad ElAklouk
GCDC Program Assistant
Raghad Elaklouk is a rising junior at California State University, Sacramento, where she studies International Relations with a minor in Risk Management and Insurance. This summer she is participating in the joint internship program with the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations and UNA-NCA. She is especially interested in the Levant area countries, particularly researching the economic standing of each country while examining policy reforms and regional development. This is her third time visiting Washington, DC, after previously coming to the United States as an exchange student through the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program. During her opportunity to study abroad in the U.S., she represented her home country, Palestine. Her passion for learning about different cultures continued to grow, which inspired her to return to the United States for her undergraduate studies despite the challenges she faced during her senior year of high school. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she has interned twice with the League of Women Voters and has also worked alongside her professor as a Supplemental Instruction leader for a general education political science course. She is excited to bring her background in education and international relations to Global Classrooms DC.
