Intan Kumbayoni is a passionate researcher and scholar dedicated to addressing health disparities, food insecurity, and nutrition challenges through innovative and culturally informed approaches. Currently pursuing a Master of Applied Anthropology (M.A.A.) in Medical Anthropology at the University of Maryland, College Park, she is set to graduate in May 2025. Her academic journey also includes a B.S. in Biological and Forensic Anthropology from Tadulako University in Indonesia and an exchange year at Troy University, Alabama.
With professional interests spanning nutrition, food security, mental health, sustainable development, and infectious diseases, Intan’s work focuses on creating practical and impactful solutions to improve community well-being. She brings extensive expertise in mixed-method research, qualitative data analysis, and interdisciplinary approaches to public health issues. Her research contributions include studies on sustainable food systems, health in agricultural supply chain, and urban food self-provisioning networks.
