Johanna Friman is from Sweden. She has always been curious about different cultures and has strived to play a role in making the world a better place. She is one of the two founders of the NGO Pamoja Girls, which works across five continents to empower girls worldwide.
Her experiences include, working with an NGO in the townships outside of Cape Town, spending a summer at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and interning at the Swedish Embassy in Kampala. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Leadership and International Law at the Swedish Defence University, she has continued her studies in Foreign Service. During her time at Georgetown, she aims to explore the consequences of leaders yielding to power and the methods to prevent corruption. Johanna hopes to equip herself with the knowledge necessary to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing global discourse on governance, corruption, and positive change.
