Lydia Daniels
Mia is a second-year Master’s student in the International Education program at GWU. Growing up in a diverse family, she developed a deep passion for international affairs and cultural competency and believes education is a powerful tool for fostering understanding and connection. Moreover, she sees the UN as a crucial platform for initiating meaningful change in the world, through dialogue and collective action by all involved. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Science from FIU, where she actively competed in Model UN. Having lived in Sweden, Spain, and South Korea, Mia brings a unique perspective shaped by her international experiences. Currently, she serves as a Co-Lab Leader for the Refugee Educational Advancement Lab at GWU. Her research interests include global citizenship education, youth exchange/study abroad/work abroad programs, experiential and reflective learning, and expanding planetary consciousness.
