Abbey Ogunwale is the Vice President for Strategic Growth & Business Development at OEF. Abbey is responsible for intelligence gathering, developing strategic partnerships, maintaining relationships, leading competitive proposal development, and building OEF’s pipeline of opportunities across all programs. He is known for leveraging strategic and tactical decision-making to engage stakeholders and partners in support of immediate and long-term objectives.

Before joining OEF, he held business development leadership roles where he successfully led the development of various multi-year, multi-million-dollar bilateral donor-funded projects in Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia in democracy and governance, global health, and energy, agriculture, and economic growth sectors. Abbey performed project management assignments on country development strategies at the World Bank and research functions on extractive industries at the International Finance Corporation. In 2019, he served the Office of U.S. Trade Representatives/EOP as a member of the Trade Advisory Committee on Africa.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Babcock University, a master’s in Project Management from George Washington University’s School of Business, and a Ph.D. in Public and Business Administration from Northcentral University. He obtained an MIT Sloan Executive Education certificate in Management & Leadership, a Disruptive Strategies certificate from Harvard Business School, and a Sustainable Energy certificate from Lund University in Sweden. Abbey is a certified PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner PMI-ACP, Certified in ITIL 4, and a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM®).

Outside OEF, Abbey serves on the Boards of local and international organizations such as the Loudoun County Family Services Advisory Board in Virginia, the United Nations Association (NCA), and a Steward on the Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican. He is a scenario planner and affiliated with the World Future Society.
