Volare DC
At Volare DC, we create equitable healing and dignified experiences for survivors of crime. We provide free, trauma-informed advocacy, therapeutic, and legal services in conjunction with strategic litigation, policy advocacy, and education to transform existing responses to harm. Volare DC is a nonprofit dedicated to building a community grounded in restoration, empowerment, and healing for all survivors of crime. Founded in 2012, the organization provides free, trauma-informed advocacy, therapeutic, and legal services—alongside strategic litigation, policy reform, and education—to create equitable healing and dignified experiences. Volare serves survivors of all crime types and centers trauma-informed principles, survivor-defined justice, and system accountability while working to build a restorative ecosystem across schools, hospitals, and justice institutions. Guided by values of innovation and sustainable passion, the organization supports a diverse, well-resourced staff and maintains a long record of impact, having empowered more than 11,000 survivors and providing hundreds of hours of hospital accompaniment, legal assistance, and crisis support each year. Led by CEO and Co-Founder Bridgette Stumpf and Executive Director Lindsey Silverberg, Volare continues to transform DC’s response to harm.
